After studying plants for two weeks students looked closely at a bee.

Published Books

My class wrote and published two books this year.  They were shipped to us at the end of April.  Above are pictures of the students reading the books after they came in.

Gallon Man

Students busy at work on their 'Gallon' men.  The Gallon Man shows the measurements of gallons, quarts, pints, and cups and how they relate to each other.  Using this illustration students can figure out how many cups there are in a pint, quart, and gallon.  Students are able to see how many pints are in a quart and gallon; as well as the number of quarts in a gallon.  These concepts can be very challenging.  Once they are put on the poster as a man it is organized and easier to see.

Measurement

We have been working on measurement.  Students were given pictures of fish and about how long they are in inches.  Students took yarn and measured out the actual size of each fish.
